Frequently Asked Questions
What is speech-language therapy?
Speech-language therapy helps individuals improve communication, speech, language, and social skills. It can support both children and adults with a range of needs—from articulation and language delays to social communication and AAC support.
Who do you work with?
We specialize in telehealth speech-language therapy for children, teens, and adults with communication challenges including articulation, language delays, social communication difficulties, voice disorders, fluency (stuttering), and more.
How does telehealth speech therapy work?
All sessions are conducted online via SimplePractice. You’ll receive a secure video link before each session. It’s HIPAA-compliant, easy to use, and accessible from your phone, tablet, or computer.
Is telehealth as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes. Research shows that telehealth can be just as effective for many speech and language goals—especially with the flexibility and comfort of being in your own home.
What equipment do I need for a telehealth session?
You’ll need a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (like a phone, tablet, or laptop), and a quiet, distraction-free space for the session.
Do I have to download anything?
No downloads are needed. Sessions are accessed via a secure link from SimplePractice, which opens directly in your browser.
How do I schedule or reschedule a session?
You can book, cancel, or reschedule sessions through your SimplePractice client portal. A confirmation email with your video link will be sent once your session is scheduled.
What if I miss a session?
We ask for 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
How do I access past session notes or homework?
You’ll find everything in your SimplePractice client portal. After each session, notes or practice activities will be uploaded there.
Do you accept insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide you with a superbill to submit for possible reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.
How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is made through SimplePractice. You’ll be prompted to securely add a card on file, and it will be charged automatically after each session.
Can I get reimbursed by my insurance?
Possibly. Many PPO plans offer reimbursement for out-of-network services. You’ll need to check with your insurer, and we’re happy to provide a detailed superbill upon request.
